Coleen's Real Women

Have you seen it?

If you haven't seen it yet, then you should check out this program called Coleens Real Women starring Wayne Rooney's girlfriend, Coleen McLoughlin.

It is quite inspirational for a lot of girls as it gets them jobs in the modelling world that they would never normally get.

For instance, there are some larger ladies that try to get work, e.g. size 14-16, which normally would only be able to get plus size modelling work.

Or those who are very short for instance also can get the work, which normally isn't the case because you have to be very tall even as a woman to be a model in order that the clothes hang in the way that the designers want them too.

What's interesting is that so far in the series Coleen has magically succeeded each time in having one of her models taken by the agency in question - a fix? Surely not!

Whether it will actually encourage more companies to take a different range of models then probably not, but it is good to see at least some other people getting given a chance for whatever reason.

What's funny is to see when they ask them all to take their make up off and sometimes this is quite a horrific experience or traumatic for some people who normally go covered and caked in make up in order to make themselves look better or just hide a lack of confidence.

The fact that the agencies did take Coleen's real women may indicate that they are more open to other types of models, or just that they did so because of the free exposure for their campaign from the TV program for instance or to look good and open, who knows... but then if only the standard sort of type of model turns up to the castings then presumably that is all they have the choice of choosing from so it could be a bit self fulfilling that they always take the same sort of person.
