Inability To Absorb Information

Do you find it hard to absorb information?

Hi,

im 21 and at college, i am in the second year of my course and the only reason i have survived so far is because i know already what they are teaching me.....

see my problem is, i have an authority complex and i have blocked off (psycologically) the channels in my mind that allow me to learn via the traditional classroom method.

i struggle to take orders from other people and tend to undermine and manipulate people in order to create/maintain an atmosphere/relationship whereby i am the boss or we are on the same level (sounds stupid i know) but its a serious issue and its holding me back...

i have recently set up business with someone and have been doing well, but unfortunately my business partner seems to be doing all the work, i need to learn some new skills in order to share the workload, and i cannot learn from him because of this complex.. i am thinking of getting some books and just reading them over and over again until information is absorbed, but that will require my undivided attention, and that isnt easy.

also i read into it and i am a kinsthetic learner, meaning i need to be doing someting physical in order to absorb information, so often at college i have to sit there and draw whilst listening etc.. but its not always easy to get away with....

anybody know what i mean? tips, tricks advice, tell me the reason/source of this or just to tell me im crazy?

N.B - it may be part of the reason for me having the complex, i have lived with a mother and a sister all my life with no male figures..
