Food and what you can eat

When it comes to what you eat, you would be forgiven for being scared to eat anything.

The fact is that there is a survey coming out every day of the week that tells you that you can or can't eat something, that what you thought was good for you yesterday is bad for you today and so on.

But here's the truth - these are all basically speculation. Nothing has ever been proved conclusively to be bad for you or good for you, and humans have eaten all sorts of things over the years and had all sorts of weird and strange diets, and we humans are still here.

So rather than worry too much about what you eat, remember the next time that you eat red meat for instance don't worry too much about what you read in the papers that it is going to kill you as that is in fact a load of rubbish!

Rather you should enjoy what you eat but simply exercise one key value - moderation in all things.

It makes sense to suspect that the more different types of food that you eat and the more variety in your diet the better; too much of any one thing is not a good idea and we have known that since almost time began...

It's time for the bottom line - there's nothing wrong with eating what you enjoy, just do it carefully and in moderation, and you should be just fine.
