PLEASE HELP ME!!! ANYONE!!!!

I dyed my hair permanent black back in december (10 months ago!!), i haven't dyed it since and my roots are quite long now, but i am having my hair done tomorrow, i am getting it cut quite short and i want it highlighted.

If they can't cut all the black dye out, will they still be able to dye over the black. Taking into consideration that i dyed it 10 months ago?
