Hi

I'm going to London soon I wondered what things you "have" to do whilst you are there... like what places I should visit?

Any recommendations that aren't in the standard tourist guides?

Cheers!

The Millenium Eye is good fun in London.

Also worth checking out the Tower of London.

Walk along the Thames, particularly the South Bank often interesting things going on and some good views.

Madame Taussauds if you like that sort of thing.

Go out in Leicester Square; walk around Westminster and visit parliament, walk by Buckingham Palace.

You might also want to visit the very famous St Pauls Cathedral, walk around The Globe Theatre founded by Shakespeare all those years ago.

Loads of galleries such as the Tate and the Tate Modern, maybe go to Greenwich and the famous conservatory there and stand across two time zones; look at canary wharf and the buildings from the river.

Go shopping around Oxford Street - the list is endless!

Hey, don't know if you have already visited but if not thought i'd give a few ideas.
Definately what the previous post said, all are good ideas on your first visit.
I'd also suggest having a walk around soho, theres lots of really great places to eat there and bars to go to - closest station is leicester square so you can go there afterwards for a good night out. Zoo bar is good there and Yates's is free to get into for a few drinks before dancing.
Also Covent garden is a must. Lots of street performers and shops too.
And any of the markets, notting hill has a great market in portobello road and Borough market has lots of good foods on sale - this is right next to South Bank which is gorgeous and mentioned before.
Hope this was some help! Jess xx
