Worst mistake of my life!!!!!! please help me figure this out

Hi! i have made the worst mistake in my whole life, i need to fix it before it's too late please help me. here's the sory:
I have been liking this guy in school for 2 years and we've been/still are really good friends. he would always flirt with me, and talk to me. he always have been able to put a smile on my face. almost everyday we sit together in the library during lunch time and hang out basically or do some homework. and sometimes one of our friends joins us. but one time he and his friend came and sat at my table and started talking with me and stuff. and his friends is like you know he thinks your hot and he will knock your sox of and the guy that i like is like well not right now, someday. anyways his friend continues talking and he basically asked me out for him. and i didn't say anything all i did was smile and blush a little bit. but i didn't even realize that he asked me out for him until late on in the day, cause the his friend put it in such a ways that i didn't get it at first. and i didn't really know what to say because it's like the guy that i liked asked me himself, his friend did it for him so i didn't know if he truly wanted to go out with me or not, or was he just pressured into doing it. and when 3 of us walked out of the library and guy that i like went up to his friend that just came out of her english class said something to her and they were holding hands, and he looked back if i saw that and how i reacted to it, but i pretended that i wasn't looking so he just let go of her hand and was walking normally with her from then on. and i know they're not going out because she already has a boyfriend so was he trying to make me jealouse? and what should i do? i mean i really want to go out with him and stuff.should i talk to him about that? or should i ugh i serisouly don't know what to do and it's driving me crazy. please respong and soon as possible

Ok I have had this happen to me soooo many times it's not even funny. And all I did was finally just sat really close to him. And talked to him all sweet, and smiled a lot, then I just started to hangout with him more and more. Then finally one day I got up the courage to ask him out. And if you do go out with him and you guys might breakup just make sure that you can still be cool as in friends. Cause most of my ex bfs are my best friends now so.
