Discuss the importance that physical, topographical, and climate features played in the growth and development of the entire united states?

Well there are very varied conditions which means that different places are great for different minerals and compounds - such as the large oil fields in some places, gold reserves elsewhere.

There are climates that produced lots of ice and also some that were great for arable farming, therefore this diversity meant that there was something for everyone and allowed trade between states for products that they wanted and could swap for something useful with other states, thus the land was big and varied enough for the resources to start afresh from the rest of the world, which without modern transport links was essential to the prosperity of united states not just initially but ongoing and into the modern world too.
