How do u find out what the orignal figure is if it has been reduced by a percentage ex 354 after 20% has been taken off.

354 is after 20% has been taken off. Well try to relate it to something you know.

For instance you know that when you take 50% off 2, it becomes 1 - so you have to double 1 to get back to the original.

So, 80% of x = 354, or 0.8x = 354. Divide both sides by 0.8 to get the answer: 442.5
