There are 60 children in year 6. 24 of the children are 11 years old. What fraction of the children are 11

If 24 out of 60 are eleven, then all we need to do to convert to a percentage is to divide the one by the other and multiply by 100.

So 24/60 is 12/30 is 4/10 is 2/5. This is therefore 0.4 multiply by 100 to go from decimal to percentage and you get 40%.
