What resources in your body do bacteria on or in your body compete for?

Well bacteria want to gain resources that your body has that they don't have outside of it, typically this will be nutrients (chemicals) that are present in the body, perhaps from the food you eat, and that the bacteria can use to reproduce rapidly, usually with negative effects (though not always) on the host.
