10 Ways To Beat Your Bank

Money : Banking

Always search for the best deal around, and switch providers or accounts if you need to. There is no such thing as loyalty in the world of banking, as banks are just there to gain as much profit from you as possible.

Never spend money on a packaged account upgrade. These usually cost £5-£25 per month in return for freebies, such as various insurance deals, so technically not really worth it. Dont be pressured into saying yes!

Never pay interest on your credit card. Basically only spend what you can afford, or pay it back straight away. Plan in advance so you know how much money you will have when the bill comes in.

Register for a cash back credit card so every time you spend you can get money back.

Borrow money from somewhere else, you dont have to stick to the same place you bank with. Avoid savings accounts as the interest rates are usually bad. Dont buy insurance policies from your bank either - shop around and find the best deal.

Also exhange your holiday money else where, because you wont always get the cheapest rate at your bank. Never pay them for their advice either, as they often charge you if you seek their advice then buy into one of their investment products.
