You could, for instance, when trying to remember a series of terms, use a different coloured pen for each in the rainbow and note down the terms in that order to help you remember. If you were trying to remember the last seven or so Prime Ministers in the UK then your list would end: Blue: Margaret Thatcher Indigo (dark blue): John Major Violet: Tony Blair
