7c - Why You Should Revise The Night Before An Exam
Education : How To Excel In Exams Part II Why revise the night before? First, it is important to point out that this is not a substitute for previous revision; this should all be in place. However, the reason we recommend revising the night before is because:- Most of the things you need to learn for an exam are obscure, non-everyday things. Therefore, they do not remain in memory for a long time, indeed lots of small extra points which get you the higher grades only remain in memory for a day or two? yes, a day or two. So it is absolutely imperative that one of those days is that of the exam. You can test this yourself: write a list of some ?extra? more obscure points. Learn them as well you can. Try and remember them the next day: you should do very well. Now try again in a week?s time: you should find you can remember much less. Similarly with a lot of detailed points you learn in your exam revision.
