9: The Contract, And Conclusion

Jobs : The Post Interview Process

Of course, in most cases when you are offered that job it is one that you have done a great deal of research into and you believe, as much as is possible to ascertain, that it is indeed the job for you. In which case, congratulations - go for it!

Read the contract carefully before you sign it to check the conditions with regard to overtime, the hours that you are expected to work, and your holiday entitlements, and you may also want to check out things like company healthcare policies and potential pension funds offered by the company.

Make sure that you read it carefully before you sign it to give you some good idea of what other benefits come with the job, and what is expected of you.

If it is a flexible working contract, then make sure that it has been explained to you fully, especially in terms of how flexible it is for you rather than how flexible it is for them, and of course that you are prepared to work those hours.

Of course, ultimately nothing can tell you what a job is like other than the actual experience of getting on in there and doing that job, and if you have followed the advice above carefully then you will surely have no great surprises when you start the job.

You will soon be making lots of new friends of your new colleagues and fitting into a happy, successful and highly motivated team of individuals. Well done!
