A Very Simple Water Level For Marking Heights.

This is a very basic home-made "tool" which is useful in a number of situations where you need to be sure that two points are at exactly the same height, where an ordinary spirit level won't do the job - for instance, because the two points are too far apart.

By using a length of clear PVC tubing partially filled with water {see diagram below} and taping or securing point "A" at the height you want, the water level at point "B" will always be the same as "A", across any distance.

With the tubing in place, top up the water level on one side if required.
