Architect

Jobs : Job Profiles

Do you want to build up your own career (pardon the pun)?

As an architect, you get the chance to do just that: you will design all sorts of structures, whether buildings or of another type. You will think of all the ins and outs of that construction - cost, safety, operability and suitability.

You get involved in all stages of the process, and as such must have the dedication to see projects through from start to finish often over several years - particularly with corporate buildings.

You must have a brilliant flare for creativity and be able to visualise clearly. You must be able to communicate your ideas accurately and simply, and good drawing skills are essential, as are communication skills.

Standardly you'll need good computing ability as well to turn your designs into reality.
Normally you will start of doing a degree in architecture or its study.

There is competition, but once you are in and make a name for yourself, the money can be fantastic.
