How To Avoid Baggage Charges

Travel : Travel Tips

Check before you book your flight to ensure you know all the airline's policies on luggage allowances, such as extra costs and limits.

Always read small print before you confirm your booking. Some will let you share the weight across your group booking, but others wont. Also there may be different allowances for children.

If you have any sports equipment then pre book a space and pay in advance as this should bring the costs down. It could be cheaper to hire when you are on holiday instead so check this too.

Find a light weight suitcase to take if your one is too heavy. Soft ones are often much lighter.

Weigh it before you leave the house so you dont have to worry when you get to the airport.

Wear the heaviest clothing when you travel and fill your pockets with ipods, cameras etc.

Buy toiletries on holiday instead. Check the weather forecast before you leave as you may not need extra jumpers, coats etc.

Also be really strict with yourself when packing and question what you will really need.
