How To Avoid Budget Airline Fees
Travel : Travel Tips Budget airlines make a lot of extra money from additional charges for baggage and card handling, so here is how to avoid it. The worst offenders seem to be Ryanair and Flybe who can charge up to £80 to £100 extra if you wish to bring one bag, check in at the airport and pay with a debit card. If you check your bag in online you can reduce your fees by more than 50%. Avoid them completely by just taking on hand luggage. Most airlines accept Visa Electron for free, and Ryanair dont charge if you use a pre paid Mastercard, so try and use these where possible. Visa Electron cards are available on the Halifax/Bank of Scotland Card Cash current account and the Halifax/Bank of Scotland Easy Cash current account. Pre-paid Mastercard can be either the FairFx Euro or Dollar Prepaid MasterCard for free, or My Travel Cash Euro or Dollar Prepaid MasterCard, otherwise the Net+ Prepaid MasterCard. Travel with bare essentials and buy anything out there if you have to, to avoid going over the weight limit. Take snacks and drinks on board (if within the regulations) to avoid paying for expensive food on board.
