How To Avoid Online Dating Scams

Relationships : Dating Advice

People may not always be who they say they on on dating sites, and of course the Internet on a wider scale. They may use fake information and photos to paint a better picture of themselves, but could be out to committ and serious crime or be after your money. They play on lonely people's emotions and can be very convincing.

Some danger signs to watch out for is that when first contact is established, they usually want to move the conversation onto an outside instant messaging service and will also immediately ask for a picture.

It is likely they will be working from abroad also, in order to avoid detection. Communication could be conducted at odd hours to UK times. They will probably declare their love for you very quickly. Many questions will be asked to their victims, but less will be answered by them.

Steer clear of anyone who asks about financial matters. Surely this is no foundation to form any romance under any circumstances.

Never give our your personal details such as address, bank account, passwords etc.
