How To Be A Productive Writer

Hobbies : Writing

Research into writing habits has shown - no surprise - that many authors have different styles.

However it has also been shown that certain writing patterns are more productive over a year than others.

The most productive seemed to be regular short spells, for instance half an hour every day of the week.

The reason for this is that the person was always focused for a short period, whereas in a two hour session the mind wanders and wavers and is less productive.

A two hour session once a week is also on the boundary of you forgetting your plot or what has happened so far, meaning you lose time at each writing session recapping where you are.

With a daily write however everything is always fresh and clear in your mind meaning you can always simply plough on with your writing.

Bottom line: to be a productive writer, little and often will usually be the best writing technique for you.
