If you have a target weight or body shape that you wish to reach through good nutrition, then it can be good to get a real visual idea of what your current body shape is like.

That's because people tend to have a radically different conception of themselves to that which is truly the case.

For instance, people who used to be big may think they still are after losing weight, and vice versa with slimmer people who have added on some pounds.

Therefore using a full length mirror and actually looking at yourself in it weekly can be a good way to enforce what your body shape really is, at this moment in time.

It is only from this basis of knowledge that you can actually then look to set yourself targets - if necessary - to either increase or decrease weight.

By equal margin you can use the full length mirror view in the future to motivate you towards your goal, even note in a diary how your image changes over time if this is a good way for you to keep yourself motivated.
