It is one part whisky to four parts hot coffee, with an added teaspoon of sugar. It is often served in an Irish coffee glass and topped with a layer of think cream. Eggnog is one egg to two parts of light rum and brandy, three of single cream and some syrup for added taste. It is shaken with ice then strained into a highball glass and nutmeg sprinkled on top. Mulled wine is a brilliant festive treat as well. Make sure you use decent wine though. Grog is five parts dark rum to two parts of lemon juice stirred with boiling water. It is usually served in a rocks glass with a clove, a piece of cinnamon and a lump of sugar. Sloe gin first came from the Basque Country, but is now popular in Spain but with sweet anis instead of gin, which makes it very moreish. Bucks Fizz and Brand Alexander are other great festive drinks to try as well.
