Jobs : Job Profiles

This job primarily involves the development of products and processes; through a combination of detailed research, analysis and experiment.

The element research plays cannot be underplayed - it is as key as the actual experimentation process itself. As such you will need an extremely detailed knowledge of your subject.

You will also be involved in writing reports or papers to back up your research and of course present any discoveries that you might make.

You will need good manual and practical skills to work with often complex apparatus, and attention to detail, planning, logical thinking and good use of computers and advanced software are a must.

You will tend to need a degree minimum, but these days a phd is often seen as the entry level requirement for good jobs.
