Self Development : Changing Your Life There is nothing harder than breaking an annoying habit you have, whether it is a facial tic or twitch, or always doing something a certain way. The best way is to first try and understand if there is any reason why you do what you do, or if it really is just habit. If it is just habit, then you need to use disruptive behaviour of the habit - in other words, do what you always do a different way. Then the next time do it a different way again - and so on and so forth. By stealing yourself to do this you can over time break the habit, but it can be tricky to break no matter how small and innocuous it is - habits seem to have a powerful psychological effect on us.
