If you want to break up with your boyfriend or girlfriend, then it can be a difficult time.

If you are sensitive then you won't want to hurt their feelings, and if you are unsure you might wonder about whether to do it or not at all in case things suddenly get better - or you worry that you will never meet someone else!

If you have real doubts about a relationship then as a rule it is better to end it sooner rather than later to reduce the hurt felt by the other person in the relationship.

If you are going to break up with someone, then ensure that you do it in private. That's rule one - never in front of others.

Ensure that you have time for any conversation afterwards - for instance the why, what and how questions.

Third, ensure you prepare what you want to say in advance so that you don't stumble through it.

Four, be kind - people tend to take criticism about their personal appearance harder than about their personality; therefore if you suddenly find them ugly then disguise this fact with something more general.

Let him/her down easy. Simple and plain. Take it slow and work your way into it. Its like sturring a stew that you dont like. YOu make it, you taste and you dont like it. Dont DUMP it out infront of people, but dont do it when you are in the middle of somthing else. If you are at playland riding the roller coaster, that would be listed in a bad situation for breakups. Choose a quit room in private.Maybe a secluded park, or a cozy room in you house. Once you have them sat down, it is best to go slowly. YOu want to pour the stew slow and easily. Start by saying somthing like "I am have been having lots of fun, but it seems like its not going to conitnue very long" or "I think that we would be better off as friends, and maybe later on we can think of commiting into a relationship"

Always give the person a chance to tell there story. If you dont like somthing that they are doing, tell them. If there explanation is a good one and can be solved, then continue on, but be careful so it doesnt happen again. If there explanation doesnt meet your standards, tell them. The good thing to a succesful breakup is speak the truth. But dont be to hard on them, somtimes you have to let youself get some of the blame.

Never actually say the words "breakup". It makes it feel like you are never goin to see him/her again and it gives the person a very awkard feelling. Once you have left him/her off slowly, consulte them if they are sad. Reasure them that you can still be friends and still hang out. After its done, its best to take a breather. Spend acouple days apart so the 'breakup" can cool down. Then you should suggest goin to the movies with acouple friends. Make sure you do not let him/her get back together with you. If you have the earge to be with him/her, its just because your not used to being just friends. Dont make the mistake of going back with him, because chance are, you are going to have to break up all over again.

just thot id let yaz know im goin thru a dilemma at d min...well basikly i wanna break up wi me bf but i dont know wat to do its awkward cause hes mi cousin and im gonna have to be around him at family events its gonna be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo awkward..and also i kind of like his friend cause he touched my leg on the bus one day but i cant be sure if it was an accident or he was flirting the bit out..hes got kind of long hair like me and i think wed look really well together but i dont want to annoy my aunties by being seen with another boy so soon
