| Education : University When you go to university, no doubt you will get your student loan through at the start of each term. Many students see hundreds of pounds in their account for the first time, and get a little bit too excited - and end up spending it all within a month then living on beans and toast from then on! Rather, you should budget up front. Write down a list of all the expenses that you will have over the duration of the loan period - rent, food and so on. Once that is done, see what money you have left. This is what you can spend on food, entertainment and books and everything else during the next few months!
