Business Telephone Calls: Are You Focussed

When making business calls you should be as focussed as possible and have your objectives of each call clear in your mind.

If it helps then by all means jot down the key points you want to address before hand so they are there to prompt you when you are on the call.

Sometimes we get emotional about business issues, for instance problems receiving payment from a client and so forth.

You should always check you are not feeling emotional just before making a call, and if you are - delay the call.

In general business dealings done when under the pressure of an emotion are less effective, for instance if you are angry about something calm down first before making the call, and ensure you are focussed, calm and polite but assertive at all times.
