How To Buy A Hamster

Pets : Other Pets

If you are going to buy a pet hamster, then the key is to buy it at the right age.

The best age to buy one is around the age of four to seven weeks, or something of that order.

The reason is simply that at this stage they are the easiest to train, because they are still young. Note that in good care they can live for a few years, so you will have a decent length of time with your new pet hamster.

Be sure to hold and stroke your pet a couple of times a day - they need TLC just like any other creature so make sure that you give it and don't neglect the pet after the first couple of weeks if the novelty value seems to wear off.

Remember that they have sharp front teeth, so be sure not to get bitten whilst training your hamster.
