| Pets : Cats It is important to realise that cats need a mix of both dry and wet foods. Just feeding one or the other is no good for your cat. For instance, if you just feed the cat dry food then the cats are more susceptible to infection in their bladder area. It can also lead to your cat getting overweight due to the higher calorific value per amount of dry food versus the same amount of wet food. Note that with wet food you must always feed the cat specific cat food. Some owners get tempted to use dog food if they have dogs as well, however this will not give the cat the right nutrients, as cats have both a higher protein and fat content in their diet.
