How To Cheer Yourself Up

Health And Fitness : Interviews

Research increasingly shows that your mood is directly related to your diet. Don't eat enough and you will be low on energy, and depressed. Equally, eating the wrong sorts of foods can lead to deficiencies or excesses and imbalances that have a direct affect, mostly bad, on your mood.

Depression and Allergies

Evidence shows that depression can be caused by allergies as well. Insufficient levels of the B vitamins seems to be particularly related here. If you are taking drugs of any sort for some ailments then they may well be having a direct affect on your mood.

Depression: Side Effects

Many common depression drugs have lots of nasty side effects. The bottom line is, if you aren't happy, then your diet more often than not isn't either, all things being equal.

In my experience, cutting refined sugar out of your diet is one of the best things you can do for your health, especially if you're overweight, fatigued, or have a mood disorder such as clinical depression or manic depression. Cutting out sugar helps stabilize your mood and restore your energy. Ideally you should cut out empty carbohydrates like white rice, pasta, and potatoes as well.

If you're addicted to sweets and/or carbohydrates, the best way to quit is "cold turkey"--just STOP. You'll have bad cravings for a few days, but after that it gets easier. It's also helpful to take chromium supplements; chromium stabilizes blood sugar levels and helps control cravings.

Anyone and everyone can benefit from cutting out, or at least reducing, their intake of sugars and starches. You'll be amazed by how good it makes you feel!

To cheer yourself up just crank up the radio-or a great cd and dance around the room. I cant help but laugh at myself when I do this.
