Choosing The Right Perfume

Beauty : Style Guide

Be selective and dont spray loads of different perfumes in the shop otherwise the smells will mix together. Use a different part of your arm each time as well. Scents have 3 layers to them - the top note, which is the instant impact smell which hits you first; a middle note, that develops over the next few minutes as finally the top note which will come out a few hours later.

Maybe try no more than two at a time and have some time to think about it as the smells develop throughout the day.

Most fragrances go into one of five categories: floral (which is youthful and feminine), fruity (spicy and warm), woody (sophisticated and earthy), green (neutral and contemporary) and oriental (strong and sensual).

Perfume for a night out is better if its a musky, oriental one. A green perfume would be better for work as its fresh and pleasant.

Choose different ones for different occasions and dont always use the same one otherwise you, and other people, will get bored of it.

Carefully plan your deodorant, hand cream, shampoo and fabric softener to compliment your scent.
