How To Control Credit Card Spending
Self Development : Money For some people their credit cards rule their lives, rather than vice versa. If you have a credit card, then the chances are that you have a generous limit on it. After all, the companies want you to be able to spend large sums when necessary else otherwise their card would be less attractive to you. Whilst they never want anybody to reach a stage where they have to default on their debts, you will probably have a credit limit above that which you can safely afford to spend each month. This means that you need to exercise self discipline. Ignore the limit on the back of the card, and set yourself a monthly spending limit on your card. Then everytime that you make a purchase over about ?5 or $10, log it in a record log - just a simple book or log that records: - date - amount - what was purchased As soon as the log level hits your total for the month, then instil the discipline to not spend on the card any more. That way when you get the bill the nasty shocks have gone!
