How To Cope With Going To College

Education : University

College can of course be a stressful time, but my advice to coping with college, the people and the work is to be yourself, if you have just come from Comprehensive school, College is a big big step up, no uniforms, and it's all very relaxed and hands off.

While college allows you to act like a young adult, they expect all work to be handed in on time, BUT if you are finding this hard to achieve, talk to your tutor, they are very occasionally helpful and will give you an extension.

Try to avoid going into college with a bad attitude, be polite, and be YOURSELF, interact with people, don't be cut off, they will look at you as being different. Make an effort in your work but don't show off, nobody likes a smart ass.

Use your time in college effectively, your there for 3 years at most, the time it takes most people to settle in at Comprehensive School, so try and meet people quickly who you can chat to through the year.
