How To Cut Back On Salt

Health And Fitness : Top Health Tips

One of the biggest awareness campaigns in recent years has been about the effect that salt can have on our bodies over the years.

The link has been well established between salt levels in the diet and high blood pressure. Of course we need salt in our diet for our bodily functions, however the key is not to have too much, and with the uptake of processed and ready made foods these days, the salt levels can be quite high in our diet.

The best way to cut back on salt is at the shops - many products these days break down the constituents of each meal that you eat, and enable you to see the salt content therefore.

By sticking to products with low or medium salt indexes, then that is half the battle.

Finally ensure that when you cook you do not sprinkle salt on your food and try to reduce the amount you add to the water when cooking.
