Jobs : Successful Job Search CV Covering Letter And Exams

Your CV must grab the attention of the employer in 25-35 seconds for it to lead to an interview. You will need to sell yourself.

1. Always write in an organised order, for example chronological can be an easy way - starting with the most recent. Otherwise a combination format is equally balanced between skill description, achievements, and employment history. This is good because certain projects can be highlighted for more of an impact.

2. Spell check and correct grammar. Get someone else to read over it for you, and use a spell checker in Word.

3. Dont go into too much detail, as this can be left until the interview. Just list tasks undertaken in bullet points.

4. Always keep it positive. Never include reasons for leaving a job, setbacks, failures and so on.

6. Be prepared for a phone call aswell. Plan in advance what you will say before you send off your CV so you are not caught off guard and ruin your chances with getting an interview or job at that organisation.
