How To Deal With A Lost Cat

Pets : Cats

If you have lost your cat, and despite all efforts you cannot trace your cat, then you may need to come to terms with your loss.

Sometimes a cat crawls off to die if it is old, and this is a natural inbuilt mechanism in many cats.

If your cat is old then this is a real possibility. Other possibilities include an accident, or your cat getting very disorientated in which case it might turn up again somewhere down the line.

Much less likely, but in theory possible, is that your cat has been napped.

If your cat has gone for a long time, then continue to keep all his or her possessions, but mentally prepare for the fact that you won't see the cat again.

If you have young kids they might be particularly upset at what has happened. Therefore try to remain calm and collected when answering their awkward questions about where their pet has gone.

Often with youngsters you can say that your cat has gone on holiday, and is having such a good time that they are staying for a long time.
