Age Spots We All Hate

Doc Says:

These rascals can give you a spotty reputation. The dark spots are usually harmless, and appear on the forehead, back of hands and arms.

Many people believe that these spots are caused by old age. This is a mistake since the spots are extremely common after the age of 55, and rarely appear before middle age.
Others know them as liver spots.

These genuinely age spots are really nothing more than freckles that result from an over exposure to the sun. However if you notice and increase in size, or a strange color change see your doc immediately.

These spots should be called sun spots, their caused by the sun. They have absolutely nothing to do with the liver, and little to do with the age, and usually occur on older people. Some may even be raised, and look like tiny moles. Their just like a dark smooth freckle.

They appear quickly on sun exposed areas, that are not protected with sunscreen.

Hydroquinone found in products like Porcelana and Esoterica that you can get over the counter, is a safe lightening agent. Dab this on the spots with a cotton balls.
Do not expect any over night success.
It will not happen. It will take a few months .You need to get this directly on the spot. Try not to get it on any other part of your skin. It will bleach that to.

Castor oil use on any rough skin. Apply castor oil twice a day with a cotton ball.
Larger lesions apply castor oil at night, and cover with a bandage to speed improvement.

Next time be a shady character. Forget the sun, and you’ll avoid age spots.
You don’t see any age spots on people that stay in the shade. Limiting sun exposure will help prevent them from darkening.
It will also minimize a recurrence of new ones.

If all else fails just cover them up. That’s right hide them. There are many types of makeup on the market. You need to find a heavier based makeup that will work.
Now if their not too bad, you can use a water based makeup.

A product called Covermark has routinely been used to hide age spots.

IF YOU SUFFER FROM ACNE, AVOID HEAVIER OIL- BASED MAKEUPS, THEY CAN WORSEN BLEMISHES.
