Dealing With A Problem Colleague

Career : Workplace Issues

If it is not your boss that is causing a problem at work but a colleague - either being too noisy, starting to bully you a little, or something else, then you need to log what they are doing and get some evidence.

If there are others who agree with you, then get them on your side.

If you trust your boss and they are good, present the problem to them.

If not, then go to HR or someone independent to help resolve the issue with the problem colleague.

Remember that they won't be happy about being complained about, but don't take the rap for that - if they behaved acceptably then you wouldn't be reporting them so it is entirely their own behaviour that has brought about the complaint.
