How To Decide A Budget For A Camera

Hobbies : Photography

One of the trickiest questions is working out just how much money to spend on a camera.

As you will know they range from the very cheap to the extremely expensive, as you move up the range from beginner point and shoot to sophisticated professional SLR cameras.

The best way to decide a budget is to decide up front how much you are going to use your camera.

If you are only going to use it for holidays and occasional social events, then don't spend more than a couple of days salary on the camera.

However, if you are going to use the camera at least once a week, then you could consider spending a weeks salary on a camera.

In other words, match the amount of time you think you will use the camera over a year or two with that number of days salary, to get a good idea of how much you can afford to spend on your camera.
