How To Develop A Good Relationship With Your Boss

Career : Career Techniques

It's a known fact that we like people like ourselves. That's why, when hiring, the interviewers often take on people like them, who 'fit the corporate image'.

However when you start to work for a new boss it can be hard to develop a rapport if one does not come naturally.

Therefore you need to try and make a special effort to get on with the boss.

One of the easiest ways is to observe them - what are their priorities? Are they a sales person, a task focussed or people person?

Try to make your priorities match theirs - for instance if sales is their thing make a special effort when it comes to sales.

It's not brain science, but by getting inside the mind of your boss and seeing what makes them tick, you can get on even better with them. If they have an eye for detail, then develop one too. By being like your boss, you are sure to develop a great and lasting relationship.
