How To Develop A Relay Strategy

Sport : Athletics

When it comes to relay strategy, then there is one key thing that you need to think about: the order of the runners.

How do you define the strategy that works best for you? Well, traditionally people have gone for having the best runner at the end to get the flying finish.

But now many think that it is best to have the best runner first, in order to get the lead and put pressure on the other teams to make mistakes for the rest of the race.

It is really up to you - but remember that the standard will be to have the second best runner first, then two solid runners, with the fastest running the anchor leg.

Ultimately it is up to you, and no order can make up for poor changeover technique and lack of flat raw speed!
