How To Develop Table Tennis Movement

Sport : Other Sports And Tips

One key attribute of a table tennis player is the ability to react quickly, and the ability to move quickly.

To improve reactions, try some simple reaction tests on the computer: there are loads of these for free on the internet, where a change will occur and you have to click the mouse as soon as you can.

Whilst this might not sound too similar to table tennis, the principle of being alert is the same and it will help you hone your reaction skills.

In terms of the movement, the side to side and back to front are key skills.

Therefore in the gym or wide open space, you should practice sidestepping lunges from side to side - and just as importantly (something many forget) running forward and back.

The trick is to try to get explosive one or two stride movements programmed into your legs so you can perform them when needed!
