How To Develop Your Photo Story

Hobbies : Photography

If a series of photos tell a story, then usually they will lead the reader deeper into the story as the pictures progress and, if relevant, as the accompanying text does so, too.

Therefore you should try and involve the reader in this way in your photos too.

But that's easier said than done, how to do it?

Well, start off with quite generic and wider angle shots. Then, as the story progresses, start to use more close-up shots and selective focus which will separate the background from the foreground more prominently, therefore shifting the focus quite literally squarely on the subject.

This technique will lead the reader deeper into the heart of the story.

Whilst it sounds quite simple, take a look at photo stories in magazines that you have at the moment and you will see just how many achieve success through exactly this method.
