Driving And Back Pain

Hobbies : Cars And Motoring

If you suffer from back pain, then driving can be at times quite an uncomfortable experience (even if you don't drive fast and accelerate hard!)

Try to have a seat that provides lateral support.

Also the seat should be the right size for you in your car - that means that it extends as far forward as the back of your calves, and is also a suitable height above your heels when you use the pedals.

As a general rule, the higher the back of the seat, the better.

Note that you should also be sensible and on long journeys have a break at least every two hours - both to help change the position and stretch out your back but also to stop you falling asleep as it is hard to concentrate on the road well during extended periods of time.

Finally if you drive an awful lot then, whilst expensive, it may be worth it in the long run to get a special chair fitted and moulded to you.
