Dutch 15th Century Painting
Hobbies : Art Painting of this period is obsessed almost exclusively with great attention to detail, and it is work of this form that many of us today still consider to be the best or truest art, compared with the preserved animals or random mess chucked in a room that personifies modern art. The skill and talent of the artists is incredible, working with materials that are not so easy to use as exactly made modern formulas, with our greater control of pigments and dyes. For instance, if you look at an incidental animal in a picture of this period, you won't see them glossed over. Rather every single hair is painted as an individual brush stroke. Thus they really were a labour of love and could take a long time to finish.
