Self Development : Stress One of the most effective ways to overcome and counteract stress is to exercise. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, when you exercise, you are invariably distracting your mind from thinking about work or what is causing the stress and rather to concentrate on whatever form of exercise you are doing, therefore it is a good and healthy distraction. Secondly exercise produces and promotes naturally good levels of so-called feel good chemicals in the body and therefore can improve your mind. Finally, healthy body healthy mind as the old adage goes, and therefore you will be well equipped to deal with the stresses and strains of life when you are feeling physically in a good position.
