How To Effectively Negotiate Your Salary
Career : Salary When negotiating your salary, there are some things you must and must not do. The first 'do not' is to get too emotional. As soon as you do this - whilst you are feeling emotional underneath and perhaps rightly - you slightly undermine the case that you make with your boss. So try to stay calm on the surface and state your case in a business like and matter-of-fact manner. Remember to have hard facts to back up your case, and also consider bringing with you feedback that you have had from people that you have worked with as to how you have done. A glowing appraisal from someone who worked on a key project is a really useful tool to have in your armoury! State clearly how much money you have made the company - if you have made them a million pounds then it should be fair enough to get a percentage of that at least in your pay packet!
