How To Ensure Bacon Is Red

Food And Drink : Great Food Tips

If you go to many good restaurants, you will find that the bacon is an appealing reddish colour - not that light, off pink that you often get when you cook it at home.

So how is it done?

Well, here is one tip that works: leave the bacon out of the fridge for a few minutes and then wash in vinegar for a minute.

This should then promote a redder colour in the meat when cooked - without a taste of vinegar (remember to wash off the vinegar with water before cooking!)
