Financial Analyst
Jobs : Job Profiles As the name suggests, this person is responsible for assessing how a company is doing financially, and often strategically too. You look at the current financial position and find ways to streamline and optimise in order to boost company profitability where possible. You will need an excellent head for numbers and figures, be able to assimilate data and research data from many sources - often the data you need is very hard to acquire and is harder than actually analysing it once you have it. A technical knowledge of your subject is mandatory - e.g. your cash flow from your capital budgeting. You need to be able to communicate well and write clear papers, and have a good command of the company in house software. You should have a degree in finance, business or economics and then tend to do some training. There are many professional qualifications out there which may be learnt on the job or required in advance. An MBA can also be an advantage.
