How To Find The Salt Content In Food

Health And Fitness : Top Health Tips

This may sound like a strange how to, in that on most foods you would think you simply read the line that reads 'sodium content' off the back of the packet to find out how much salt there is in it.

That's because salt is sodium chloride, and so the sodium chloride should contain the right measure.

However according to recent information, to accurately find the amount of salt content you should multiply the sodium content by 2.5!

Note that salt is often hidden in prepared foods and ready meals, as it is used in these as a preservative as much as to enhance or give flavour to the dish.

Many manufacturers are getting better at labelling up clearly foods with a high level of salt in them.
